The idea: give a game another life
A chess game already contains conflict, decisions, and turning points. Chess Sagas takes that record and presents it through a fantasy setting, giving players a different way to revisit a game.
The approach: build the experience around the game record
The starting screen centers on a field for a PGN—the text format used to record chess games—and a clear action to begin the saga. An introduction explains the setting before the user starts.
Dark backgrounds, gold accents, and the language of battle records carry the theme through the interface. The Hall of Records, Hall of Champions, Piece Codex, and world history provide additional places to explore.
What the app demonstrates
This project combines a focused input workflow with a themed interface and AI-generated storytelling. The site explains that generated sagas can contain errors and that new sagas are publicly visible by default, helping people understand the experience before they begin.
